Established in 1970, the Charlottesville LDS Family History Center (FHC) is one of more than 4,000 centers around the world providing training and resources to research family history and genealogy.
The Charlottesville FHC recently moved to a new location at the Charlottesville Airport Road LDS Chapel. It is one of the best equipped genealogical research facilities in Central Virginia. The Center also has complete access to the world’s largest genealogy repositories located at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) Family History Library in Salt Lake City.
The center provides free computer access to FamilySearch, Heritage Quest, and a multitude of on-line family history databases sponsored by the LDS church and others. Microfilm readers and printers are also available to access millions of film media records in the local collection or on loan from the Family History Library.
The 2010 Schedule of Classes is now available with 25 classes including 15 new topics and 8 “remodeled” for 2010.
Online registration is NOW OPEN and will continue until 4pm – Wednesday, March 24th.
Due to all the holidays, snow storms, ice, and then a broken water main, the FHCenter was closed much of December, January, and February. We apologize for any inconvenience that may have occured for those who ventured out.
